VAD Not Starting on macOS 15.4 - Workaround

If you're experiencing an issue where your VAD (Virtual Audio Device) does not start on macOS 15.4, here's a workaround that can help:

  1. Open Activity Monitor

  2. Go to View > All Processes

  3. Search for coreaudiod in the list

  4. Kill the process (right-click and select Quit, then choose Force Quit if needed)

This will restart the Core Audio service, which can help get the VAD up and running again.

Please note:

  • This is a temporary workaround, and the issue may reoccur after restarting your Mac.

  • Make sure you’ve followed the full optimization guide according the os version carefully, without skipping any steps, as this can impact system audio stability.

If the issue persists after trying this please contact support via our website widget.

This issue has been fixed in Virtual Audio Device v3.5.1
