Intermediate Updates:
In some cases, updating to the latest firmware version may require performing one or more intermediate firmware updates.
For example, if your current firmware version is 1.5.7 you will need to need to update to 1.6.2 or 1.6.3, before finally updating to the latest version 1.7.0.
