Merging highly recommends you defer updates in Windows 10, as major Windows updates can make your system unusable.
This allows such updates to be further tested and approved by Microsoft, and Merging.
Updates can be configured on Pro, Educational or Enterprise editions of Windows, not on home versions!

Configure updates using Group Policy Editor

Panel

In Windows Search field, type GPEDIT.MSC
Right click on the gpedit.msc and select Run as Administrator



Expand
titleOn Windows Anniversary (1607), Creator (1703)

Browse to Computer Configuration> Administrative Templates> Windows Components> Windows Updates> Defer Windows Updates.
Double click on the Select when Feature Updates are received.
Select Enabled.
Switch Current Branch to Current Branch for Business
Set the delay days to 180. (Since Creator Update 1703, you can now defer up to 365 days)
Click on OK to close this window.


Double click on the Select when Quality Updates are received.
Select Enabled.
Set the delay days to 30.
Click on OK to close this window.


You can now close the Group Policy Editor window.
The computer must be restarted for such changes to apply.

Switch to Semi-Annual Channel
Set the delay days to to 365 days.
Click on OK to close this window.


Double click on the Select when Quality Updates are received.
Select Enabled.
Set the delay days to 30.
Click on OK to close this window.


You can now close the Group Policy Editor window.
The computer must be restarted for such changes to apply.

  1. Download and extract the following zip file
  2. Double click on the WindowsTargetReleaseVersionInfo.reg file to add it to your Windows registry
  3. Open Windows Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) and browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate
  4. Double click on WindowsTargetReleaseVersionInfo and enter your current Windows version.
    You can easily get your current Windows version by typing winver in Windows search field or Run command.


Note for MassCore users above 22H1

MassCore users with the latest Windows 10 versions will still have a warning message upon opening Pyramix. 
This is due to a no longer present registry key checked at Pyramix's launch. To remedy this :
