> Pyramix v10.1 projects are not be backwards compatible with the previous Pyramix v10.0 releases.
In order to open such projects in the previous release, please make sure that you perform the proper Save Special. A Save Special “Save as Version 10.0” was added to the list.
> v10.x Libraries format are not compatible with older Pyramix release as v7.1.
> Pyramix v10.0 has a warning message of “Not Enough Streams available”.
This happens when reaching the maximum record inputs available. In such case we recommend that you reduce your inputs number count or disable the Background Recorder that are consuming inputs.
If you afterwards get a constant Message Box “Re-activating Project” at each Playback start, close and re-open your project to avoid this.
Be aware that under the VS3 Control Panel if you have enable the Secondary Device you will consume Streams, disable this option is not in use.
> Horus and Pyramix PreAmps support
GPS strips do not support the PreAmps control but VCA strips do.
Make sure that you install the latest Horus Firmware for proper communication.
> VST Plugins not seen under Pyramix v10
- By default the “\Program Files\VstPlugins” and/or “\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins” directory will be scanned if it exists, as long as the User did not specify any VST folder.
- User can select their VST plugins directory by going under the Pyramix Settings>Mixer>VST Plug-ins Settings and adding the directory where the installed VST plug-ins are.
- The initialization of third parties VST plugins takes place at the Pyramix Launch and can take a long period of time (Close to 4 minutes for a Waves plugins bundle scan). Be patient if you see that your Splash screen remains in display.
- If a crash occurs during the scanning the VST scan will be automatically relaunched, up to 3 times in a row, if a fourth crash occurs the user will be ask if he wants to relaunch the VST scan.
- The faulty plugins dll will be displayed in red and stored under C:\Program Data\Merging Technologies\VSTplugins\VSTPluginsBlacklist.crash.
- Force Rescan (From Pyramix Settings>Application>Mixer>VST Plugins) will retry to register the VST blacklisted plugins.
> DSDConverter utility crash when rendering to DSF - more than 6 tracks
> RAVENNA Core Audio Driver: Mic PreAmps: Horus Mapping in ProTools Gain level not accurate.
Merging has improvements in its latest firmware (v3.0.3b26178) refer to Firmware release notes
In most circumstances it is better to enable the ProTools MicPreamps option "Retain the current Setting" under the Peripherals in order not to loose MIDI Pre communication.
> Background Recorders: Can cause a "Runtime Pure Virtual Call" error crash when removed.
Do not have the Background Recorders that you will remove selected in the Transport.

> Interchange: AAF non-embedded export to Pro Tools 7x could generate "Could not complete your request because an unexpected error happened while trying to find an audio media file’s format" error.
> The AAF import includes a new option “Use UTF-8 conversion to import Links/Locators Path Names”.
This allows converting the referenced path names (called Locators in AAF/OMF) using UTF-8 coding.
This was the default previously and works in most cases, but we leave the option for some imports that could be problematic with or without.
> Interchange: DAR is no longer supported since Pyramix v9.
> Timezone time-stretch tool is no longer supported in Pyramix v10.
> Interchange: OMF Export no longer supported, since V7.1 (Last supported in Pyramix v7.0SP3).
See with you dealer for the further information and AAF proposal plan.
> Interchange: ProTools is compatible with ProTools version 5 and below, not with more recent versions.

> Final Check Metering is available with Merging optional Key.
Supported in MassCore or Native mode. Not supported in Mykerinos mode.
> Final Check Metering: When running MassCore on more than one core, it is possible (though not always the case) that Final Check cannot monitor certain bus/stem (No metering, but it works again when selecting another bus).
Do not use Final Check with more than one core.
Add an effect (any effect will do, but you may prefer to pick one that doesn’t modify the sound: phase oscillo, surround monitor…) on the bus that Final Check doesn’t want to monitor.
> Advanced Audio Codec Support Key (optional) for MP3 and AAC support.

> Cannot navigate from a Media Marker to the other.
To navigate from a marker to the other can be achieved by selecting the media and using the Tab keyboard key.
Make sure that under your keyboard editor under “Cursor and Marks” you must have TAB in the Nudge Cursor to Next edit command.

> Cannot load DSD / DST files into the SACD disc builder interface, with error "Files.dll not registered (Philips DSD)".
Manually register the Files.dll found under C:\Program Files (x86)\PhilipsSACD :

> Cannot use DiscWrite or Import from CD with Pyramix v6.2 and higher.
Note that it is also possible that some other applications (Vegas, Nero, Sequoia) could see your Drive since they are using Nero or Sonic drivers (other technologies) and not the Gear specific Drivers that are used with DiscWrite.
Re-install Pyramix (maybe run clean up after un-installing Pyramix) or Re-install the Gear driver.
Prior to re-installing such drivers use the Gear Removal Utility below.
Find other Gear links that may be useful to determine if the drivers are installed and functioning correctly and other tips.
