When several RAVENNA devices are present on the same network, one is elected as PTP Master, and the other ones as PTP Slave.
Only the PTP Master is able to lock to an external reference (i.e. Wordclock, Video reference,...)
If the PTP Master device fails, one of the Slave device will be elected to Master, but by default will be on its internal clock.
The PTP priorities has to be configured on the devices, to have it set on the external clock in the case it becomes Master.
Setup example :
- Horus 1 master with sync on Video Ref.
- Horus 2 slave, needs to fallback as master with sync on Video Ref.
- On each Horus, select Video in the I/O & Sync Page.
On the Master PTP, the Horus will be synchronized on Video, the PTP slave will show Video sync red : - Open the advanced pages of the slave device, and go in the PTP tab.
- Tick the "Manual" box and set "Priority 1" to 130 (Default value 127).
The other PTP Parameters should not be modified.

PTP Priority values
High values have low priority, and low values have high priority; 1 is the highest priority and 255 the lowest.
By default, all Merging devices are set with a priority value of 127, and an internal algorithm is used to determine which device is elected as master when several devices have the same PTP priority value.
