If your CD/DVD device is not detected anymore as a Source or Target in DiscWrite, but works properly in Windows, the Gear drivers (specific CD/DVD drivers used by DiscWrite to control the device) might be corrupted.
You can also get "Unable to open ASPI driver GEARASPI64.dll" error message.

To completely uninstall the gear drivers :

  1. Close Pyramix and DiscWrite
  2. Download and run this utility :
    http://download.merging.com/beta/AssociatedTools/Driver_remover_thirdparty/Driver_Remover.exe
  3. Restart the computer.
  4. Download the latest drivers form Gear website :
    http://www.gearsoftware.com/downloads.php?dir=updates/windows/drivers/&file=Driver_Installer_x86_x64.exe
  5. Install the new drivers
  6. Restart the computer

Your CD/DVD device should now be detected by DiscWrite.
