MTPortal

The MT Portal is a free tool offering a convenient and easy way to keep your Merging devices up-to-date.
MT Portal will alert you about the latest available versions and provide a one click download and update function.
MT Portal can also be accessed through MTDiscovery, ANEMAN, Merging Audio Device Panel (Windows), Virtual Audio Device Panel (Mac) and the Neumann MT 48 Agent.

NEVER TURN OFF THE COMPUTER OR THE DEVICE WHILE PERFORMING A FIRMWARE UPDATE.


Prerequisites & Installation 

  • The MTPortal application is available as a separate installer, compatible with Windows 10 & 11 (both 64bit) or MacOS 13 (Ventura) or MacOS 14 (Sonoma) or MacOS 15 (Sequoia)
    Please download from https://www.merging.com and install it.

  • The MTPortal will work along one of the applications below

    • Merging MAD (2.4 and above)

    • VAD (3.4 and above)

    • MT Discovery (20.0 and above)

    • Pyramix (15.0 Hotfix1 and above)

    • Ovation (11.0 and above)

  • Please download from https://www.merging.com and install according to your needs.

  • An active internet connection on the computer is required.

Procedure

You can either:

  • Start the MTPortal application.  This method will show you updates for all detected devices and programs.

  • MT Discovery application. This method will show you updates for the selected device or program.
    Your devices will be automatically detected, an orange dot shows that an update is available for your Merging device(s).

Right click on the device(s) to launch “Show Available Updates”.

  • MAD (Windows) or VAD (Mac) panel can also be used to access MTPortal.
    This method will show you updates for the selected device or program
    Right click on the device(s) to launch “Show Available Updates”.

    Note: MAD and VAD panel will only display devices running in RAVENNA/AES67 mode.



Using MTPortal

The MTPortal window shows the update status of your devices.

  • Make sure your Merging Technologies device(s) are connected to your computer gigabit network interface.

  • Make sure your Merging Audio Device (ASIO) is running.

Download & Update
The MT Portal will download the firmware/application and start the update.
When the update is finished, the application will automatically reboot the device.
Note: Related firmware components like Anubis Remote Control can also be downloaded and installed.

Download only
The MT Portal will download the firmware/application in your Downloads/MT folder (Windows) Application Support/MTPortal (Mac).
You may decide when you want to update your device, whether it is manually through the Maintenance pages (see the device User Manual for details), or by using the MT Portal.
Download 
The MT Portal will download the firmware in your Downloads/MT folder (Windows) Application Support/MTPortal (Mac).
The update has to be performed manually, some applications (Pyramix, Ovation, MAD-ASIO) cannot be automatically updated, you still need to uninstall and install manually.

Update
The MT Portal has detected that the latest firmware available has already been downloaded in your Downloads/MT folder (Windows) Application Support/MTPortal (Mac).
Update will start the firmware update.
When the update is finished, the MT Portal will automatically reboot the device.

Your_Device_Name is up to date
Your device is already running the latest firmware available (in the selected mode if applicable)

RAVENNA/AES67 - Dante tabs
For Merging devices that are Dante compatible, a RAVENNA AES67 and a Dante tab are available, allowing to update the device in the required mode.
A "Running" icon shows in which mode the device is currently running.


Note for Horus and Hapi 1st gen:
As the firmware update requires to reboot the device in Maintenance mode, the firmware update has to be performed manually (see the device User Manual for details).

Additional Tools

The Merging Portal can update itself, a restart of the application will be required after the update process.
Anubis Remote Controllers, ANEMAN* and MTDiscovery tools can also be updated with MTPortal.
ANEMAN update via the MTPortal 1.3.1 is supported on both Windows and MacOS.
For previous MTPortal versions, ANEMAN has to be downloaded and updated separately on MacOS.
