Configure the Network Firewall for your MERGING+NADAC favorite application

A firewall can help prevent hackers or malicious software from gaining access to your computer through a network or the Internet.
The Windows firewall can be configured to allow applications to communicate through it.
Such rules are related to the applications (programs), but not to drivers or devices directly.

Emotion Music server has been fine tuned to work with the embedded Windows Firewall.
But, for other Media Players, you may need to open a port in the firewall.
If you have installed an Antivirus software, it may have taken control of the firewall, and therefore you may need to configure it also for Emotion.
The methods to authorize an application through the firewall will differ depending of the application that handles the firewall.
See below for the Windows embedded firewall or click here for third party firewall (Norton, McAfee, Avast, Kaspersky,....)
If you need to configure the MacOS X Firewall, please click here.
