VCube synchronisation with third party DAW over IP

It is possible to synchronise your VCube with a DAW on another computer using the Midi Time Code synchronisation.
Please note that VCube does not generate LTC or MTC.

Prerequisites

A RJ45 ethernet cable between both computers on a different network than the Ravenna network

The rtpMIDI software installed on your PC computer

Connect both computers together using the RJ45 ethernet cableĀ :

OnĀ PC, openĀ rtpMIDI, create a new SessionĀ and connect theĀ DirectoryĀ bearing the name ofĀ the system you wants to synchronise with

In VCube, open Settings > Formats&Sync> MIDI Timecode Input, and select the Apple MIDIĀ SessionĀ you have create inĀ rtpMIDI




  1. Ā OnĀ Mac, open theĀ Audio MIDI SetupĀ app, go into theĀ MIDI StudioĀ >Ā Network, create a newĀ SessionĀ and connect theĀ DirectoryĀ bearing the name of the system you wants to synchronise with,


    In your DAW, choose for MTC Reader and Generator Ports the Apple MIDIĀ SessionĀ you've just created

    example in Pro Tools, go into Setup > Peripherals to enable theĀ Apple MIDISessionĀ for MTC

    example in Logic Pro X, go into File > Projects Settings > Synchronisation > MIDI to enable theĀ Apple MIDISessionĀ for MTC
