Pyramix Side-Chain

Pyramix 15

Side-Chain is available since Pyramix 15.0, for VS3 Plugins Dynamics and Strip Tools, and VST2/3 Plugins with Side-Chain capabilities.

VS3 Plugins

    • Selection of Side Chain input Strip 
    • If the Side Chain Input strip is Stereo or Multichannel, the choice is offered to: 
      • Use all available Channels of the Side Chain Input Strip. In the StripTools, the Peak of All Channels are used for the detection. 
      • Use a Mono Mix of all Side Chain Input Strip channels 
      • Select one channel of the Side Chain Input Strip 
    • Post FX 
      • Pick the Side Chain Input signal Pre or Post Effects on the Side Chain Input Strip 

VST Plugins

    • Side-Chain settings available in the Routing page of the plug-ins when compatible
    • Post FX: Pick the Side Chain Input signal Pre or Post Effects on the Side Chain Input Strip 



Pyramix versions prior to V15.


There is no sidechain implementation in Pyramix.
 
But there could be a SideChain/Ducking workaround by using the db audioware VST, see the screenshot attached where they have a Universal Sidechain link notion and no need to mix the inputs to obtain a Ducking effect,

There could be a different workaround as you can see bellow, you can create a multichannel strip and apply it from there. For example with Flux plugin which must receive both medias sources simultaneously in order to make a Process/Sidechain relation.



Another example of using the Side Chain that is build in the Flux PureComp.
In this case again the synth on 1-2 will playback and duck when the dialog on channels 3-4 enters.
